SCS SB 575 & 714 -- Donation of Prescription Drugs

This substitute allows drugs donated to the Prescription Drug
Repository Program in the Department of Health and Senior
Services that are not used or accepted by any pharmacy, hospital,
or nonprofit clinic in this state to be distributed to
out-of-state charitable repositories for use outside of the
state.

The department is required to develop a program through which
unused prescription drugs may be transferred from long-term care
facilities to city or county health departments for disbursement
to low-income residents living in this state.
